ONLY YOU

My heart is waiting. Body is tense.

Mind scatters and frustrated at lack of control.

But You hold my heart. You made my body.

You control my life. Take over my thoughts.

Calm my anxious heart. Hold my shaky hand.

Steady my steps and rest my soul.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring,

or if tomorrow will come at all.

I dream of how it might be.

Frightened of the unknown.

Scared of disappointment, of loss.

I cling to you.

You know me better than I know myself.

You know my struggles, my fears, all the days of my life,

and what the future holds.

You will never leave me.

You are always good,

always faithful,

always blessing me, surprising me,

SAVING me. You alone will give me hope and a future.

I love You, Lord.

Bring me closer to You.

Wrap me in Your strong arms and kiss me.

Whisper Your crazy, nonsensical peace into my life.

I know all I have and all I am is from You, and You alone.

You’ve given me more than I ever could have dreamed for myself.

I am content.

I rest in You and Your unfailing love.

I still have so much growing, maturing and learning to do.

Don’t give up on me! Keep teaching me.

I want to want You above all else.

Help me submit my will and my plans and mean “Thy will be done.”

I want to honor you.

Only You can save me — You and Your never-ending, all-encompassing Love.

Please save me! Or more importantly,

help me to remember that

I’m already saved.

Thanks to Christ, I am saved

no matter what.

My ultimate hope and joy.
