6 Steps to Finding Your Colors

6 Steps to Finding Your Colors

Color matters. Everywhere we look we see in color, and whether we are hanging out or going out on a coveted date night, the right colors make us pop. But how do you know what colors to pair with your skin tone? Here are six steps to finding your perfect colors.

1. Go to your local paint store and get a color wheel.

Lowes or Home Depot has them, or there are paint sample cards you can pick out as well. I like the paint wheel because you have all of the shades and tones of each and every color imaginable all together.

2. Find your natural blush shade.

After washing your face find a place in your house with a lot of natural light. Go to the pink section of your color wheel and hold it up to your cheek to determine the exact color matching your natural blush. On the paint wheel you will see that color along with other colors in the same shade, take that section out of the wheel and set it aside.

4. Find the color or colors that make up your eyes.

We all have a few different colors or shades in our eyes and this might be a bit more challenging to find on your own so have someone with a good eye help you. In natural light, find your eye color in your color wheel.
